Topics:

Learning in Museum is becoming an important issue in both museums and e-learning research fields. There are many museums with various exhibition types around the world, how to make visitors to 'learn' something from the museum has been taken into researchers' considerations. Museum learning requires technology supports, especially, supports from learning technologies to ensure the learning effects. Furthermore, because of learning in museums could be seen as a kind of self-pace learning with mobile and/or ubiquitous learning devices, how to build the infrastructure for different types of museums is important, too. Therefore, this special session involves the following topics:

Brief Biography of the Organizers:

Prof. Maiga Chang received his Ph. D in the Dept. of Electronic Engineering from the Chung-Yuan Christian University in 2002. His B.S. and M.S. degrees were received in the Dept. of Information and Computer Engineering from the same university in 1996 and 1998, respectively. During 2000-2003, he was teaching in three universities and being IT/EC/e-Business consultants for around ten businesses and organizations includes the Small and Medium Enterprises Guidance & Service Center of Taipei City Government. He is a valued IEEE member for eleven years and invited as a member by the International Who's Who of Professionals in 2000. In Sep. 2004 he received the 2004 Young Researcher Award in Advanced Learning Technologies from IEEE Technical Committee on Learning Technology (IEEE TCLT). He has participated in near forty international conferences as program committee member and has published more than seventy journal and international conference papers.

Mr. Kuo is currently doing international licensing matters for National Palace Museum, Taipei, Taiwan. He is a section chief in the publications department. He owned two Master degrees from the United States. One is MBA (master of business administrative) and the other one is CIS (Computer Information System). His major studies are related to e-government policy-making, digital archives, e-learning, digital divide, and culture creative industry. Besides that, he is planning how to reform of the institutional image and innovative design value-added business model.
