From the Plenary Speeches
POST-CONFERENCE REPORT
The 2004 WSEAS International Conference on
APPLIED MATHEMATICS,
the 2004 WSEAS International Conference on MATHEMATICAL
BIOLOGY and ECOLOGY,
and the 2004 WSEAS/IASME International Conference
on FLUID MECHANICS and on
HEAT and MASS TRANSFER
were held in the Corfu Holiday Palace Hotel (5 Star) in
Corfu Island, Greece, from August 16 till August 19, 2004
This WSEAS/IASME Multiconference was really a big success.
SCIENTIFIC
PART:
5 Plenary Lectures by very important scientists and parallel sessions in 4
Conference

Most of the papers were of high quality and for this reason the
reviewers promoted them to WSEAS International Journals.
The organizing committee followed the rule:
Positive Comments from 2 reviewers --> Publication in the Proceedings
Positive Comments from 3 reviewers --> Publication in the Proceedings + Journals
Positive Comments from 1 or 0 reviewers --> Rejection
The proceedings (600 papers) were distributed to the authors during the event
while selected papers were published in WSEAS and IASME Transactions.
The Proceedings and the Journals related to this important
scientific multi-meeting have just sent (today, August 20, 2004) to
the following Science Citation Indexes:
INSPEC (IEE), ISI (ISINET), ELSEVIER, CSA, AMS. Mathematical Reviews, ELP,
NLG, Engineering Index, Directory of Published Proceedings, ZENTRABLATT
SOCIAL PART:
2 (two) Banquets, 6 (upgraded) coffee-breaks
The first Banquet was the welcome Banquet by the Mayor of Corfu and Town Council
that offered by the Mayor and Town Council in the Public Garden (August 16,
2004).
The second, but more important was the official Banquet of the conference
with a great variety of food (over than 50 different plates), beverages
live orchester with 6 instrument players and singers and entertainment until
3:00 after
the midnight.
The Mayor of the town as well as the President of the local Technical Chamber of
Greece addressed a speech
during the Banquet
The "upgraded" coffee-breaks also were an non-informal discussion forum for many
scientific discussions.
After the conference, several excursions and a special visit to some stadium of
OLYMPIC GAMES of 2004 (Athens, Greece) took place.
Note that the accomodation of WSEAS Guests in Corfu Holiday Palace (luxurious 5-Star Sea Resort)
was at the discount price of 50 EUR per night!
